The Interview Before Your Interview

Recruitment and dating are quite similar. You check us out, we check you out, and together, we dance a little to get to know each other a bit better. Then, one day, you realize it’s been 14 years and our relationship is still thriving. So let’s ignite the spark right now!

It all begins with an interview

Therefore, we prepared a mini Q&A session to answer the general questions you might have about IceWarp, our culture, work environment, open positions, et cetera. Hopefully, it will grab your attention and we’ll talk real soon in person.

Q: What’s your recruitment pitch?

A: Besides the fact that we’re awesome? 😁  Obviously, it all revolves around our product. We see a continuous increase in our market share even though we’re the little guys in a land of giants. IceWarp is an exceptional solution made with love in the Czech Republic, and you can make a difference here.

Q: Who are you looking for the most?

A: Developers, because our software is constantly evolving, and that requires more and more brainpower. But we also need amazing colleagues to fill other positions in sales, customer support, you name it.

Q: Do I need any prior work experience?

A: It really depends on the role you want to fill. Obviously, you need to meet the requirements – if you want to be a React Developer but don’t know what a data layer is, you still have some studying to do. Other than that, our doors are open to fresh graduates as well as certified experts.

Q: What education and personal development options do I have?

A: Instead of corporate incentives, we focus on your individual needs and requirements. If you want to learn Chinese or Docker (and it’s relevant for your role), we’ll make it happen.

Q: Do I get any feedback on the work I’m doing?

A: Of course. All our Team Leaders have regular 1:1 meetings with their teams. Here you can discuss any issues or needs that must be tackled, and you receive feedback on your work.

Q: What if I have a new idea or an issue to escalate?

A: Because we’re still a relatively small company, we don’t have a complex management structure. There are Teams, Team Leaders, C-level, and that’s it. This is one of our perks because it means that you can always step into Adam’s (our CEO) office and tell him what’s on your mind.

Q: Is Czech, English, or any other language mandatory?

A: The short answer is no. Everything is well as long as you are able to communicate in a language we understand. Although 90% of us speak Czech on the daily basis, we are comfortable to speak English as well. Some of our colleagues are from JAR, Honduras, Georgia or Kazakhstan.

Q: Remote work or on-site?

A: Again, it depends on the role and individual agreement. We don’t have a 9-5 policy, you can work whenever and wherever you want, as long as your deadlines are met. The only requirement is that everyone can be reached between 10 AM and 3 PM because it makes team cooperation much easier.

Q: Can you describe the offices a bit?

A: Our core teams, like development and marketing, are based in Karlín, Prague. We rock in an open-space, informal office with a few living plants here and there. The (fully-stacked) Kitchen is where all the gossip happens, the Funroom is the place to unwind and relax (if you can get your hand on the Xbox controller), and our pets are roaming free around the whole space.

Q: Speaking of the offices, what’s the culture like?

A: You’ll see. 😉  Some of us regularly play football together, others go to the theatre once in a while, and we have an office breakfast together every two weeks. There are also two annual corporate events: Spring Break is a summer weekend outside of Prague and the Christmas Party is what you would expect – an office party in December with quite a lot of elves on the shelves to make you giggle.

By now, it’s safe to say our first date has gone off without a hitch, right? We’re a friendly bunch, we enjoy the work, and we’re pretty damn proud to make IceWarp what it is today. You probably have a million other questions, so let’s talk about them. Choose a position, send us your CV, and let’s change the future together.
