GDPR – General Data Protection Regulation
An EU law with mandatory rules for how organizations and companies must use personal data in an integrity-friendly way.

ISO – International Organization for Standardization
- ISO 9001 – the international standard specifying the requirements for a quality management system
- ISO 27001 – the international standard for managing information security
- ISO 27017 – the security standard for cloud service providers and users that guarantees a safer cloud-based environment and reduces the risk of security problems
- ISO 27018 – the information security code of practice for cloud service providers who process PII for their customers
- ISO 29119-1 – the standard defines vocabulary, processes, documentation, techniques, and a process assessment model for testing that can be used within any software development lifecycle.
- ISAE 3402 – the International Standard on Assurance Engagements, Assurance Reports on Controls at a Service Organization
SOC2 – Service Organization Control 2
A cybersecurity compliance framework developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
- SOC2 compliance – assurance that third-party service providers store and process client data in a secure manner.
HIPAA – Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
A set of federal standards protecting sensitive health information from disclosure without patient consent.
- HIPAA compliance – healthcare providers, health plans, and covered entities are required to maintain the confidentiality of protected health information.
